How to Enable WebSocket Support in Synology Reverse Proxies on DSM 6.2.1 and Earlier

Modify the Synology nginx configuration

First, connect via SSH, log in as root, and edit the configuration file

vi /usr/syno/share/nginx/Portal.mustache

Then add the following to the location block, as shown below:

proxy_set_headerUpgrade $http_upgrade;

proxy_set_headerConnection "upgrade";

proxy_read_timeout86400;

Finally, restart the service

synoservicecfg --restart nginx

It should work now
